HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK explained
HEX is a six-digit code made of three pairs (red, green, blue) in base 16, for example #FF6B4A. RGB writes the same three values as numbers from 0 to 255, here rgb(255, 107, 74). HSL describes the same color by hue, saturation and lightness, and CMYK is the ink-based format used for print.
Short HEX codes such as #F80 are expanded automatically to #FF8800.
