How to use the edit pdf

  1. Drop your PDF into the box and pick a page with the arrows.
  2. Use the toolbar to add text, an image, a white box, a highlight or a freehand drawing, then drag items into place.
  3. Click Save PDF to download the edited file.

What you can and cannot change

This editor adds new content on top of your pages: text, images, highlights, white boxes and drawings. It does not rewrite the text that is already in the PDF. To fix a word, cover it with a white box and type the new text on top of it.

The covered text is not removed from the file, so do not use a white box to hide private information. For that, use the Blur and Redact tool on an image of the page.

Private by design

The PDF is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. If a page is rotated, use the Rotate PDF tool first. Text with unusual characters is saved as a picture of the text so it always looks right.

Frequently asked questions

How do I edit a PDF for free?

Drop your PDF, add text, images, highlights or drawings with the toolbar and click Save PDF.

Can I change the existing text in a PDF?

Not directly. Cover the old text with a white box and type the new text over it.

Can I fill in a PDF form?

Yes. Click Add text and place the text over each field. Move and resize it until it fits.

Is my PDF uploaded?
